Advocacy
The Arc of York and Adams Counties provides organized assistance for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in York and Adams Counties regarding their rights and protections as well as assistance in navigating the developmental disabilities service system. This assistance also takes the form of creative problem-solving and utilization of community resources. Advocacy is meant to break down barriers that exist for persons with intellectual disabilities so that they can more fully participate in services and in the community in general.
NOTE- Beginning in the fall of 2022, The Arc of York County and The Arc of Adams County began the process of merging to better serve individuals in York and Adams Counties. Although we are still awaiting our official name change to “The Arc of York and Adams Counties,” we proudly serve all individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in both York and Adams Counties.
